CMS Admissions Process

1. Admissions Tours

Admissions Tours are for parents only, are an important part of the application process, and should ideally involve both parents.

Young Child Community, Primary Program, and Elementary Program tours take place each Wednesday from 9 AM – 10:30 AM, October – March. During your tour, you will be guided through our 7-acre campus by a Montessori-trained staff member. You will have a chance to observe the entire continuum of educational programs that we offer.  This active tour will provide ample opportunity for questions and answers.

Contact our Admissions Office to register for a tour: or 410-757-4740.

If you are interested in learning more about our Adolescent Program please attend one of our AP Group Tours. These typically run throughout the Fall months.

Contact our Admissions Office to register for an AP group tour: or 410-757-4740.

2. Application & Observations

After your tour, you will be provided an application to complete at your convenience. You may stop by to submit it or you may mail it back to CMS.  A non-refundable $50 application fee is due at time of submission.

As part of the primary and elementary application process, we request that you return to campus to observe in our classrooms. Observation is an essential step to ensure that your family is well-matched with our program. Observations are scheduled each Thursday at 9 AM. You will observe in at least two classrooms and there will be a chance at the end to ask questions of the Admissions Director. Please schedule one hour for observations.

Contact our Admissions Office to register for an observation: or 410-757-4740.

3. Shadow Days

If you are applying to the Elementary Program or the Adolescent Program your child or adolescent will be invited for a Shadow Day.  Shadow days are a chance for your child to work in the classroom for all or a portion of the normal school day. The Admissions Office will be in touch to arrange shadow days after the application has been submitted.
